MUSEUMS

MILITARY: Here in Fayetteville we defend and celebrate the democracy that our forefathers gave us. There are many places in America's hometown that best show our celebration of and defense of democracy. The Airborne and Special Operations Museum, located at the intersection of Bragg Blvd and Hay St documents the history of the Special Operations, and Airborne units. JFK Special Warfare Museum located on Burgess St, Fort Bragg, has items unique to WWI and the Vietnam War.  The 82d Airborne Division Museum continues its mission to serve as an educational and training source for the soldiers of the division. Soldiers and civilians are able to view films in the theater, tour the gallery, see rare artifacts, and use the expansive archive of materials that tells the 82d Airborne Division story. The "Living History Detachment," sponsored by the museum , is a group of volunteers who travel to various events in 82d period dress teaching soldiers and the public about 82d history.
