MARKETING

The Marketing function is an Occoneechee Council unique function within the Council and its Districts.  As such, there is no standard description of the Kia Kima District Marketing function.

For this reason, the functions of this district are defined by the District Key 3 in conjunction with the Council Executive and Marketing Committees.

The District Marketing Chairman receives guidance and operating parameters from the District Key 3 and executes them within the District.  The Chairman also performs as a member of the Council Marketing Committee in order to ensure the most up to date and efficient marketing process is in use within the Kia Kima District area.

Presently, the marketing function within the district includes:

1.  Maintaining the district web site presence.
2. Coordinating, editing, and publishing the district newsletter.
3.  Working through local media outlets (radio, TV, newspapers, etc) to inform the public of Boy Scouting in Cumberland County.
4.  Coordinating marketing activities with the various District Committees, as well as neighboring districts and the council marketing team.
5.  Works closely with the District Key 3 and the Membership Chairman to develop a coordinated marketing plan.
